Provision of Working Conditions

The Korean Rehabilitation Centre For Children With Disability was established in Pyongyang thanks to the positive activities of the Korean Foundation for the Disabled and Orphans. The foundation has paid close attention to mentally retarded children as well as the blind, deaf and other physically handicapped children. It made a thorough study of how foreign countries make efforts to help the disabled children recover, and keenly felt the necessity of an arrangement for recovery from mental disabilities on the principle of early discovery and early interference. Then it made steady preparations in different aspects to set up a recovery centre in Pyongyang on a trial basis. In August last the Korean Rehabilitation Centre for Children With Disability was set up in Tongmun-dong, Taedonggang District, Pyongyang. Although they have just begun their work, the workers of the centre are full of resolution to make a great success in their programme in a shortest possible period of time. They hope all those countries, organs, organizations and personages who are interested in the care of the mentally retarded children in the DPRK will actively cooperate for the development of the centre.
