Now he studies hard to be a member of the Korean Art Association of the Disabled after his graduation from the conservatory.
Thanks to the active support from the KFPD and Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun Conservatory, and under the warm care of the governmental bodies, including the Ministry of Culture, and volunteer service-providers, he exercises to be an excellent pianist and composer every day, though his hard physical condition allows him to sit properly only for 20 minutes a whole day.

She has been walking the way for providing the disabled people with walking aids and assistive devices as well as life requisites, food, etc. The people with disabilities who had received her sincere service include those in coal mine areas, Phyongchon and Songyo districts. And her knocking at the doors of the people with disabilities used to be heard not only on holidays but also on normal workdays. Her service moved many people, with the result that she has been registered as an honored coal miner of Toksong Coal Mine, and is being regarded as the true sister and daughter of the disabled people.

A Table-Tennis Prodigy

Wow, Wonderful! Well Done!

A lovely girl is attracting the admiration of cheers.

She is Yu Myong Sin, aged 10, a pupil at Pyongyang Ponghak Primary School. She is giving full play to her skill in her test game with a rival who is older than her and have rich experience. She had her right wrist amputated.

She started to learn playing table tennis 18 months ago. She has made painstaking efforts to master such various techniques as serve and drive to the admiration of coaches, as well as those with the same rank.

Frail, disabled girl as she is, she is cultivating her talent to her heart`s content on this land of a blessed socialist society.

Career:

Graduated from Writing Department of Korean National Language Faculty of Kim Il Sung University

He has been working as a writer of children`s stories at the Central Committee of the Korean Writers Union. He has written one medium-length true story, over 80 short stories, essays and notes.

Collections of his works, titled, “Wing of Hope” and “Succession” were printed in 1982 and 2007 each.

Occupation: Creator of the Korean Art Association of the Disabled

He has a keen interest in archery and gets scientific training under the special concern of experts.

Ri, who is endowed with keen intellect, quick sense and unabated enthusiasm, will achieve good results in international and domestic games.

Date of birth: February 14, 2009

Present occupation: Student at the Inhung Junior Middle School, Moranbong District, Pyongyang

Type of disability: Amputation of a lower right leg

Career: When he was two, Kim had his lower right leg amputated by accident. He showed a keen interest in sports, and in his first year of the primary school joined the table tennis group under the Korean Sports Association of the Disabled. Last year he was selected as a player for winter sports of the disabled and conducted training in cross-country skiing.

Present occupation: Editor at the Korean Economic and Cultural Centre for the Deaf and Blind Address: Sinhung-dong, Tongdaewon District, Pyongyang
Type of disability: Person with locomotive disability
Career: Working as an editor at the centre since 2016, Ri plays a leading role in developing sign-language programs and introducing sign language subtitles. He presented to the 28th national IT show such computer programs as Sign Language Dictionary and Companion of Sign Language Study, and won the first place.

Career: After amputation of left lower leg by accident at the age of 13, he graduated from the job training school of the KFPD central committee. Under the direction of coaches of the Korean Sports Association of the Disabled from 2012 on, he won high ratings in domestic and international table tennis competitions. He pools efforts and wisdom to further develop his table tennis techniques.

Present occupation: Player of the Korean Deaf Football Team

Type of disability: Person with hearing disability

Career: Pak Hyon Chol suffered from adverse reaction of a medicine at the age of three and lost his hearing. Since 2014 he acted as the captain of the deaf football team. His deft dribbling led his team to victory in friendly games with Australian and Brazilian counterparts in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Career: Kim Ung Chol suffered from adverse reaction of a medicine at the age of three and lost his hearing. Since 2014 he acted as a central forward of the deaf football team. His Korean team won several international games with foreign counterparts.

Background: She was suffered from uveitis in age of 7 and became blind. Since 2016 she has been working at BAK.
At present she is working in the office of a vice president of BAK. She is carrying forward the compilation of Korean Braille book and the work to make and implement the project for forming the information network of Korean Braille. Since BAK admitted to the Ordinary member of WBU by March of 2020, she is working as a delegate of BAK.

In 2018 he became a ski and table tennis player of the Korean Sports Association of the Disabled. Nimble-witted, quick in action and dogged spirit, he`ll make successes in international competitions of the disabled.

Type of disabilities: hearing impairment by an illness at the age of three
Born with gifted hands, Kim has worked in the Korean Art Association of the Disabled since 2017, cutting a conspicuous figure in making violins and handicraft.
His violins were awarded the technical prize and sci-tech prize in the 9th and 10th Pyongyang musical instruments exhibitions, and four articles of his handicraft were favourably commented upon by experts at the national sculpture and artefacts festival. Even now he strives for more successes in making musical instruments and handicraft.
