To Make Big Stride in Sign Language Dissemination
The Deaf Association of Korea and the Sign Language Interpreters Association of Korea, in cooperation with scientists and technicians at the Biomedical Engineering Faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology, have made achievements in the work to improve the accuracy of a program for the machine translation of Korean sign language.
Based on the definition of the structural and descriptive principles of the Korean sign language sentences, they solved important sci-tech problems and improved the descriptive level of sign language by a virtual person, and its accuracy and flexibility.
The achievements constitute a big stride in teaching and disseminating the Korean sign language and ensuring the communications of persons with hearing impairment with ordinary persons.
