Developing of Projects

The Central Committee of the Korean Federation for Protection of the Disabled is working hard to improve domestic and foreign exchange and cooperation regarding the care of the disabled persons, with an understanding that it is no less important than building up its own capacity in helping the disabled in the country have greater welfare. In August 2011 the KFPD invited the Tianjin Changcheng Recovery Apparatus Co., Ltd. to the DPRK and reached an agreement with it in the idea of concluding an MOU on mutual cooperation in the prosthetic field including the training of prosthetic workers. The MOU was signed by both sides in late May 2012. On February 9, 2012 the KFPD concluded an MOU in Helsinki, Finland, regarding cooperation between the Korean Federation and the World Federation of the Deaf. Preparations are being made to found a Korean centre of the deaf and a Korean association of the deaf. As a result of the conclusion of the MOUs, a new landmark was set in the exchange and cooperation effort as well as in the effort to consolidate the material foundation for the federation to conduct activities for the care of the disabled more energetically. The KFPD will continue to steadily improve cooperation and partnership with all countries, organs, organizations and personages who are willing to make sincere cooperation for the care of the disabled in the DPRK.
