Int’l Day of Persons with Disabilities Marked in DPRK

A meeting took place at the Central Youth Hall in the DPRK on December 3 to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

Present there were Jon Chol Hi, chairman of the Central Committee of the Korea Federation for the Protection of the Disabled, officials concerned, disabled persons and their families and working people in the capital city of Pyongyang.

First, donation certificates were awarded to those who actively supported persons with disabilities with a view to adding more brilliance to the large socialist family overflowing with noble virtues and affection, and a video dealing with the successes made in ensuring the rights of the disabled this year was shown.

Then, an artistic performance was given by the Korean Art Association of the Disabled to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The performers represented their cheerfulness and vigour of bringing their hopes and talents into full bloom under the loving care and benevolence of the Workers` Party of Korea in colourful numbers such as song and dance My Powerful Motherland, female solo Carer of My Destiny, magic Wonders in the Box and dance Overcoming Physical Difficulties.

Prior to the meeting, the participants looked round photos showing the life of the disabled who lead a happy life under the most advantageous socialist system of the country.
