Broadcasting on TV and Radio

   Bean-paste soup with unique taste and flavour is a traditional dish peculiar to the Korean nation which makes people miss their native homes.

   In mid-March 2004, Chairman Kim Jong Il stressed the need to broadcast on TV and radio the recipe for bean-paste soup.

   From the early period of the development of human history the Korean ancestors cultivated soybeans and made bean paste. They prepared bean-paste soup with savoury taste by mixing bean paste with various food materials.

   In general, bean-paste soup was made by boiling well bean paste with vegetables, meat, dried fish and other materials. The recipe differed according to the regions as they made it with different food materials and various methods.

   Chairman Kim Jong Il stressed the need to disseminate different recipe for bean-past soup and broadcast it on TV and radio so as to preserve the good qualities of national food.

   According to the benevolent measure taken by the Chairman, various kinds of multimedia including “The origin of bean-paste soup and its recipe”, “Best is our bean-paste soup with national flavour” and “Recipe for bean-paste soup”, were broadcast on TV and radio, making a tangible contribution to maintaining and preserving the tradition of national foods.
