Pagyon Falls
Pagyon Falls is situated in Pagyon-ri, the northern part of Kaesong City.
The name is derived from the meaning of a waterfall falling down in a pond like a bucket.
Pagyon Falls, 37m high and 1.5m wide, is a waterfall pouring out of the valley between Mt Chonma and Mt Songgo at the end of the Ahobiryong range, thus being one of the three famous waterfalls in our country along with Kuryong Falls in Mt Kumgang and Taesung Falls in Mt Solak.
It is faster and louder than other waterfalls.
Surrounding by steep cliffs of the south and precipitous wall of stratified rocks, the waterfall is more magnificent. In spring, azaleas, royal azaleas, cherry, apricot, wild pear are in full bloom, and in summer magnolia in thick forest is fragrant, and in autumn the whole mountains and streams are colored with red maples, making the scenery of the waterfalls more beautiful every season.
