For the further development of the pickled fish culture of our nation
Pickled fish is a tasty food that stimulates one’s appetite with its peculiar taste and smell which our people enjoyed from the old times and is one of the highly nutritious side dishes.

The respected General Secretary gave an on-spot guidance to the Kumsanpho Fish Pickling Factory again on January 14, Juche 106 (2017). He said that as the factory is a large-scaled fish processing station producing pickled fish by industrial method, world-famous products that can contribute to promote our own styled pickled fish culture should be made by developing various delicious pickled fish products according to the kinds and traits of the fishes of the west coastline. He also gave instructions to develop new pickled fish products.
The respected General Secretary gave an on-spot guidance to the Kumsanpho Fish Pickling Factory again on August 7, Juche 107(2018). He said that our people called pickled fish a “rice thief” and so pickled fish has been one of the delicious and highly nutritious side dishes our people enjoyed from the old times. He continued that our country is sea bound on the three sides and rich in fisheries resources, so the pickled fish culture was especially developed in our country from the early times. He instructed that the factory should become a model factory in developing the pickled fish culture and contribute to the improvement of the people’s living.
The respected General Secretary looked around the pickled fish stored orderly in the storehouse with a bright smile and said that it is really fine scenery and he can feel the pride watching the pickled fish products piled up mountain high. He continued that he feels proud to think that the factory will contribute to the dietary life of the people.
Thanks to the detailed guidance and energetic leadership of the respected General Secretary, the Kumsanpho Fish Pickling Factory has been excellently built and the traditional pickled fish culture created by our ancestors could now be further developed in a way that suits to the desire of the people and the needs of the time. Now dietary life of our people became richer and more civilized.
