Mung-bean pancake, one of the three favorite foods of the Koreans
Mung-bean pancake is one of the folk foods well enjoyed by the Korean people from old times.
It is made as follows; first, mung beans are milled in water, mixed with meat, vegetables and the like and then fried on frying pan.
Mung-bean pancake is recognized as a health food, for it tastes good and also has high nutritive values.
Our ancestors have used mung beans as an antidote. Mung beans are rich in protein and carbohydrate, and have a good diuretic effect. Also they make the skins clean, promote the spleen’s ability, ease the spirits and sharpen the eyes.
Mung-bean pancake is well known to the world as one of the three favorite foods of the Koreans together with kimchi and pulkogi (Korean barbecue).
