Sika Deer at Paegam
High mountains and tributaries of the Sodu River can be found on the east slope of the Paektu Mountains and the areas of over 1 600 m above sea level in the middle of the Paektu Plateau. They are favourable habitats for sika deer.
The vast wet plains and forests in the Paegam area are inhabited by sika deer.
The deer feed on grass, tree leaves, pliant sprouts and bark, moss, mushrooms, etc. In summer they migrate to salty places.
They move in flocks of 4 to 6 in the open, grassy places with sparse trees.
