Korean Folklore Museum under Construction in Hwasong Area

The construction of the Korean Folklore Museum goes full steam ahead in the Hwasong area.

The exterior of the three-storeyed museum with the Korean-style gabled roofs shows national characteristics. The traditional architectural style of combining a structure with fences has been introduced to build corridors on the left and right of the museum and an elegant vestibule in its centre. The museum is designed to lay out many exhibition halls and has a wide area for afforestation.

The building adds more beauty to the Hwasong area as it represents the excellent architectural skills of the Korean people, going well with the afforestation area.

Its builders are pushing ahead with the project by employing rational methods. And officials and researchers from the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the Korean Folklore Museum and Pyongyang University of Architecture are making vigorous efforts to produce interior layouts so as to vividly showcase the time-honoured culture and good manners and customs of the Korean nation.
