In July 2023, Kim Won Chol, the donator of a jade Buddha, was awarded the certificate of donation of Korea National Heritage Protection Fund.

The Buddha, 10.8cm high and weighs 425g, depicts a delicate figure of Shakyamuni Tathagata sitting on the platform of 3 octagonal steps and pagoda-shaped pedestal with lotus depicted, and on the back of the Buddha are written by the words “Pultorakse” (meaning paradise of Buddhism), “April 28th, Kyongin Year”, “Riyakmorip” (meaning that the gain is doubled) in Chinese characters.

The Joint Academy of History, Archaeology and National Classics of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea came to the conclusion that the jade Buddha was made in the first half of Koryo period in view of its form, material, font, and findspot such as pedestal, method of portrayal and pattern on Tukwang (the golden rays that appeared behind the head of Buddha meaning of nobility in Buddhism).
