Mt Kanbaek volcano is one of the geological sites in the Mt Paektu area registered as a global geopark. It is a volcano with an altitude of 2 162m in the north of the Kanbaek caldera, located at the place where the radial fault along the crestal line of Mt Kanbaek intersects a ring-shaped fault. Mt Kanbaek volcano is of significance in studying the activities of the Mt Sobaek volcano group.
