Befitting a Good Guide for Children

Yang Myong Sim, a teacher of the Raengchon Kindergarten in Tongdaewon District, Pyongyang, has been teaching two children with hearing impairment since April 2024.

She has developed new teaching methods for the children in earnest.

By making them imitate shapes of her mouth and feel, with their palms put near her mouth, the intensity of her breath while she was pronouncing the alphabet, she has finally succeeded in having them learn how to read out the Korean alphabet.

She has drawn over a hundred picture cards to help the children learn more words while playing with the cards.

When a new semester began, the mother of one of the children visited the chief of the kindergarten and said in tears that her child had called her “mum”, and that they began to have verbal communication with each other.

This was an expression of her immense gratitude to the excellent teachers and the socialist system.
