Songhwa Street, a new street for people, was built in the Songsin and Songhwa districts, the eastern gateway to the capital city of Pyongyang in April Juche 111 (2022).

The street is lined up with apartment buildings for 10 000 flats, including an 80-storeyed skyscraper, educational, healthcare and public welfare facilities, an elevated bridge and decorative structures, which go well with each other by virtue of the application of plastic arts and artistic techniques and the ensuring of reciprocity, connectivity and practicality.

It is the outcome of the long-cherished desire of the Workers’ Party of Korea to provide people with more stabilized and civilized living conditions.

A year has passed since ordinary working people raised cheers when they received new houses from the state free of charge.

Flowers are in full bloom in all parts of the street, many young people got married and gave birth to their children, with the result that laughter of happiness reverberate through the street.
